Dr. Shaughnessy

Dr. Shaughnessy is a 1993 graduate of the University of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine. After completing three years in a mixed animal practice in Pennsylvania, she decided to move to northern Virginia to focus exclusively on dogs and cats. Dr. Shaughnessy's interests lie in small animal internal medicine and getting puppies and kittens off to a healthy start. Dr. Shaughnessy is a member of the AVMA and is a past board member of the Northern Virginia Veterinary Medical Association.  She has authored several articles on women in veterinary medicine. In her free time, Dr. Shaughnessy enjoys travelling with her two teenage daughters and playing with her Golden Retriever, Maggie.

Dr. Ventocilla

Dr. Ventocilla graduated from Universidad Nacional Mayor de San Marcos in Lima, Peru. Born and raised in Peru, she followed her love for animals and concerns for street dog welfare into vet school, graduating in 2008. After completing a surgery internship at the Universidad de Buenos Aires, she moved to the United States in 2010, and worked as a Licensed Veterinary Technician while completing her equivalency degree. Her interests include surgery, dentistry, preventative medicine, dermatology and shelter medicine. In her spare time, she likes to travel, do photography, and spend time with family. She lives in Alexandria, VA with her husband Michael, 5 month old daughter Eliza, 9 year old Peruvian yellow lab Sophie, and 8 year old cat Frenchie.

Samantha

Samantha is Head Technician. Her knowledge and experience keeps a crazy day at the clinic going smoothly. She has been a Licensed Veterinary Technician for five years. Pets and clients alike appreciate the good vibes of her positive personality.

Tara

Tara is a Veterinary Assistant and Head Receptionist. Tara intends to become a Licensed Veterinary Technician. She loves hiking with her dog, drawing, and ice cream.
